A new wave of Russian forces attempting to invade has been halted at the border near Kharkiv, according to Ukraine’s military, following claims by Vladimir Putin’s troops of capturing five villages.
The spokesperson for the Khortytsia group of forces stated that Moscow’s troops were being contained in a militarily contested “gray zone”.
Nazar Voloshyn mentioned, “The enemy is currently confined within the gray zone and is not expanding.”
In response to Russia’s new offensive launched on Friday, Ukrainian military reinforcements were deployed to the region to stabilize positions and prevent further advances.
Kharkiv Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported that artillery, mortar, and aerial bombardments struck over 30 different towns and villages, resulting in the deaths of at least three individuals and injuries to five others.
He added, “Currently, the enemy continues to exert pressure in the northern part of our region.”
